The psalmist was among the sons of Korah, who were doorkeepers in the temple according to the Bible. In this psalm, the psalmist imagines the mood of the pilgrims and the scene of pilgrimage through the Valley of Baca, that the blessings of God showers upon the people, and not a single good thing is withheld from whoever trusts in God, forming a beautiful picture. When you and I worship God every Sunday, we should also carry the same joyful mood of longing for God, then we may go from strength to strength, and we would also be called blessed. More importantly, the psalmist said, blessed are those who dwell in the house of God, because a day in His court is better than a thousand elsewhere. We should not just worship the LORD of hosts in church, but also abide in Christ, trust in Him in all things and praise Him. Praise God, because He has prepared for us all the fullness in Christ; praise God, because Christ is the living and true path leading to God; praise God, because He asked us to abide in Christ to enjoy Christ; praise God, because Christ is all and in all! |
